It's not much but it's better than nothing...

I have felt helpless all day watching the footage and hearing all of these horrible stories about Moore, OK.
What can I do when I am here and not there.
I have sat here and thought about it all day.
The obvious is I can pray which I have done and will continue to do.
Just the thought of it makes me tear up.
I can't imagine losing anybody but especially the lives of those precious children.

My friend Kimmyyyy lives in Oklahoma.
We were actually joking yesterday about how what she had for lunch was causing in uproar in the bathroom they were all stuck in together at work while waiting out the storm.
And then disaster struck and lives were instantly changed.
I remember a specific story they were talking about last night on the news about a man sitting on a bucket outside of where the Elementary once stood just waiting for any news on his son.
He was actually told at one point there was a good chance his son didn't make it.
He didn't do anything.
He just sat there with tears streaming down his face.
I just can't wrap my brain around that.
I have stared and went through my children's pictures all day today.
I just got word not long ago that a sweet girl named Sydney that Kimmy knew had been found but unfortunately not alive.

Please go to Kimmy's page and read about how you can help out Terminy and her boys.
She is a single Momma and lost absolutely everything.
Kimmy has set up a paypal account so that you can directly donate or email Kimmy if you would rather send gift cards, etc.

If I could leave today to go out and help I would but unfortunately I don't have the means to do that at this time.
However I am doing what I can.
I plan on donating to the paypal account as soon as I get home tonight.
In the meantime my Mary Kay business is doing what it can as well.
For every $10.00 you spend there will be a $1.00 donated specifically to Terminy and her boys.
It's not much but it is better than nothing.
If you click on the picture on the top right hand side of my page it will take you directly to my site.

Thanks for everything that everybody is doing to spread the word to help these people start to rebuild.
It won't take the pain away but it's a start...

Taber Tuesday!

While I am still taking a much need hiatus I have another gem guest posting for me today.
I have a serious girl crush.
We basically love all of the same things...
That makes us instant BFF's.
Right?!

So show my girl some love while I am STILL, yes I repeat, STILL trying to get over this hell virus.

Hey everyone!

I am so stoked to be guest posting for Marcy today! I was stalking her on Instagram, and she said she was looking for guest posters but I'm still a little starstruck that i get to! Marcy is one of my very favorite bloggers, I love her raw honesty. She isn't afraid to share her emotional struggles and her successes. She's not a weight-loss blogger who pretends to be perfect all the time, and her being real makes me love her even more! Not to mention she is one of the nicest people I've ever met in blog land.

Il tell you all a little about me, I blog over at Taber Time. I've been blogging about running and my love of food for a while now, but I'm just now getting to the weight loss part. Marcy is a huge inspiration to me now that I have started to try and work on my weight. I've struggled with my weight gaining and losing about 30 lbs several different times. I'm finally sick of the cycle and sick of getting fat.
Emotional and life stress seem to always take priority and I haven't really been willing to put in the time and mental change to my life style.
I've tried several different methods to lose weight  everything from hardly eating to paying a few thousand for a trainer. They have all worked for me but not enough to stick long term. The difference this time is that I have long term goals, I've seen the cycle too many times and I'm ready to make a permanent change. Currently, I'm trying a new plan- counting my macros. There is flexibility in what you eat, but you calculate your fats, proteins, and carbs to be the optimum amount for your body to burn fat. It's only been a week but I'm learning so much. My diet was wayyy too heavy in fat. I don't feel deprived and in fact I get one high carb day a week so I never feel too restricted and I've already lost a few lbs. I'm not as controlled as many people, and I came across Ashley on Instagram who is helping me with my macro meal plan. Contact her here and tell her I sent you if your interested in more information about it! She is sweet, helpful and answers all my annoying questions. I'm still learning as I go, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me. I can only hope to be as successful and inspiring as Marcy is!
I'll leave you with that before I get too lengthy! Thanks for listening to a piece of my story! You can read more about my journey on my blog, I share my struggles, recipes, running and random life updates.

It's Monday and I ain't sad about it...

Hey y'all!
Happy Monday...
I, for one, am glad Monday is here just for the shear fact that I actually feel human again.
If you follow me on IG then you know I have had the hell virus all weekend.
The best part of it was that I dropped a quick 10+ pounds.
Other than that it sucked the biggest set of balls you have ever laid eyes on.
You don't want it.
I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.
Okay maybe that is a lie.
Regardless, I bring you one of my favorite people to guest post for me today.
Love this lady and one day her and I will be sitting on a porch, sipping on some gin and juce LAIDDDDD BACK...
Okay I am digressing.
We have practically planned our youngest childrens future together.
This lady seriously has been the kindest most motivating person to me.
She may tell you otherwise but she is MUCH more than just a boring mommy blogger =)

Hey all you fellow mustache lovers!!  This is my first guest post, normally I'm mommy blogging over at Love And Crayons and pretty much just ramble about our day to day lives raising two cute as a button little boys, but I promise you today I won't talk about poopy bums or spit up!!!

Just over a week ago I finished my very first half marathon.  I live in British Columbia, Canada and participated in the Vancouver BMO Marathon.  I have "dabbled" in running in the past, but have never been a long distance runner so didn't really have high expectations for myself although I set a finish time for 2 1/2 hours.  I just had my second son this past September and was asked by a friend if I wanted to do the half with her and I thought what better way to lose the baby weight!  And as of today I have lost the baby weight, but  nothing more!! I know its not all about the weight, but I still have a lot to go and thought running would get me svelte by the summer. No such luck there!  But I'm not giving up and I know I will get there one day!

For my training I had the help of one of my good friends, Kari, who has done one half before and numerous 10 ks.  I just started off by doing pretty much what she told me to do!!  Once I got into longer runs I would head out on my own as Kari was having trouble with her knees so I would follow the Hal Higdon Novice 1 program.  I tried to run at least 4 times a week with Friday as my long run days.  I'm not gonna lie, it was hard and I hated it.  I dreaded every run I "had" to do and was not looking forward to the race.  I pushed myself to keep going and was really looking forward to all of it being over.

So race day came and I felt like a nervous wreck.  I felt out of my element and more out of place than ever.  I thought people were looking at me wondering why this out of shape girl was here!  My husband was there the whole time helping to calm my nerves and pump me up!!  It was time to line up, do some stretches and get moving!  I had my music on and just went at a decent pace and tried not to walk too early.  I took a few walking breaks throughout the run, and lost steam a few times but kept pushing through.  It wasn't really a hilly run, but the hills that we had wore me out.  Coming around the bay I knew I was getting close to the finish and as I rounded the corner I could see it!  I pushed myself to sprint to the end and crossed the finish with a final time of 2:29:55!!! I did it!  I made my time goal with 5 seconds to spare!!  I was proud!!

I'm sure you've heard about the runners high before, and I had never really felt it until when the race was over.  It felt so good knowing I could do it, and finish under my goal.  I can say now that yes, I am a runner, and yes I will be doing another race!!  I don't have one set yet, but I have been looking.  Next round of training the only thing I would change is to do more hill training, and more sprinting.  And, if I can do it, anyone can do it!!

and what better way to finish off a race than with shots??  You can check out my full race recap here!

The Diary of a Fat Mommy...

Hi all, I'm going to go ahead and introduce myself, I'm Amy @ The Diary of a Fat Mommy and I'm guest posting today!  Marcy would have introduced me, but she's pretty sick today, let's all wish her a GET WELL SOON!

A couple of days ago, Marcy asked on her Instagram if anyone was willing to guest post for her.  I volunteered, thinking, "Sure, why not?  Just like posting on my blog, right?"  Ummm... not really!  I've got a few readers, but Marcy is freaking famous.  So when she asked me last night if she could still take me up on my offer -- I kinda panicked!

I put my big girl panties on and jumped at the opportunity of letting you all meet this Fat Mommy.

I want to tell you all about why  I embarked on this journey:

Honestly, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired of how fat I looked was.  Tired of how I felt.  Tired of the fact that I was living in yoga pants because nothing else fit me comfortably.  Tired of feeling ashamed.  I had given up on myself, really let myself go.  And then I asked myself a question. "If you can't focus on yourself and you're so uncomfortable in your own skin, how do you think others see you?"  On the outside I looked happy & bright, but on the inside I was crumbling.

I started to research weight loss, doing it the healthy way.  And I stumbled upon an amazing community, the blog world.  The more I read, the more I found myself relating to those women.  They had all been where I was.  They all started somewhere and if they could do it, I was certain that I could too.

So I got up one morning and went for a run and then wrote about it.  I ran and wrote, ran and wrote, ran and wrote.  The more I ran, the more I wanted to write, to share MY struggles.  And the more I did this, the more I believed in myself.  Starting was difficult, but making that decision was the first step in this commitment to myself.

I've lost 19 lbs and every day I add more to my routine.  And you know what keeps me going everyday?  The fact that I know there are more people out there that feel the way I felt two months ago.  In the hopes that they will find my blog and say, "I can do this!"  Because you CAN!  You're not alone, we're all in this together!  Believe in yourself, because I believe in YOU!

Bored yet?  Check out my blog on Monday, where I'll be letting you all know about the key elements I follow to ensure I succeed!

We all have our moments... mine is right now.

Ladies you are going to have to forgive me.
1.  I know I asked for guest post help this week and next but there were so many of you that if you really still want to do it email me @ themrsburris{at}yahoo{dot}.com
2.  I am still in healing mode.
I am finding it hard to be funny, hard to laugh, hard to even fake a smile.
My heart is hurting but know that I am going to be fine and I will be back stronger than ever.
3.  Do not, I repeat do not, emotionally eat like I have for the past couple of weeks.
It will only make you that much more depressed.

I will just leave you with this video.
P is on the move.
I'm not ready.
Oh and my backside is huge.
Why hasn't anybody said how chunky I am getting again?
I actually had somebody tell me yesterday they couldn't imagine that I ever weighed what I used to and another this morning that told me how much I am still losing.
Y'all I am failing miserably right now.
I know it's a bump in the road.
I know we all have our moments.
Now is mine.

PS Does my Shelby girl not have some serious swag going on?

A little Nerky Meg action...

Please give my nerdizzle some serious love!  She took on the last minute challenge of filling in for me today while I take a mental break!!!  All I ask is that you pray for me, my family, and most importantly my Pawpaw today...  XOXO

Oh, SNAP. Unexpected guest post on hump day from Nerky. I know what you're thinking: Fuck. Yes. I know my girl Marcy as @milfmommyof3 on Instagram. I myself am a milfmommyof1, unless you count fur babies, then milfmommyof2. I haven't always been a milf. I mean, my kid is only a year and a half old. Before him I was just an ilf. (I got jokes!) Ha, I kid. I used to, um, have more to me. More cushion for the pushin', if you will, except I rarely did any pushin' because I felt so insecure/depressed/unhappy/bad about myself.
I started counting down from 200 lbs because it's not really fair to include the fetus and all the other watery goo inside you in your weight loss, so in 20 months I've lost 61 pounds of fatty fat. Now that I have less cushion, I'm down for some pushin'. (If ya know what I mean.)
I've lost a ton of weight and posted a damn-near-nekkid picture on the internet, but that's not what makes me a milf. Two criteria: 1 - You gotta be a mom. There's no way around it. Having a kid fucks up your body, so having a post-partum body that's still desirable is kind of a big deal. I happen to be a single mom. (Hellooooo straight single guy readers! *crickets* Oh, there aren't any of you? Balls.)
2 - You gotta be confident. It took me a long time to get comfortable in my own skin, and that came with weight loss and being happy with my life. That has turned more heads than any amount of spray tan, lip gloss or teased-to-Jesus hair. And if that guy doesn't think your a milf, so what? Another one will - maybe one you haven't noticed yet. That first guy probably has herpes anyway. You're a milf. You've worked hard for that title. You go on witcho bad self - and howsabout you come visit my lil ol' blog while you're at it?

My special day is STILL awesome...

button

My 16th birthday.
Oh snap!
The birthday where I officially get to put myself behind the wheel of a car instead of fake driving in the passenger seat.
I still don't understand why that break doesn't work on the passenger side front seat of the car?!
Anybody else feel me on that one????

Anyways...
I was turning a new leaf.
Getting older.
I felt awesome.
Nothing was going to ruin this day.

Right?
Wrong...

Not to be all depressing but my 16th birthday just happens to be one of the most depressing days in history...

I will never forget sitting in Honors English and another teacher running into Mrs. Coleman's room telling her to turn her television on immediately.
...and the second plane hit.
So my 16th birthday that I had dreamed of for so long was put on a serious hault.

The entire rest of my birthday was spent with our eyes glued to the television.
I remember sobbing for these poor people.
And as selfish as it was I was mad.
Angry.
Why?
Why on my birthday???

I really had thought everybody just forgot about me and my special day.
Then the weekend rolled around.
That weekend I was spending time at my Dad's.
I remember him asking me to put a blindfold on and he was going to take me somewhere special.
About 45 minutes later I am pulling a blind fold off to family and friends cheering, one huge ass birthday cake, and even a DJ.
SURPRISE!!!!

But now on this birthday when everybody is all like OMG your birthday sucks I just smile and say, "No, it doesn't!  I mean hello I was born on this day so it can't be bad!"

PS I really need to win that KiKi La Rue gift card Mama needs new clothes.
=)

They see me rollin
They hatin
Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
My music so loud
I'm swangin
They hopin that they gon catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin dirty
